What you can expect?

Accompanied by your local guide and food connoisseur, learn about the origins of Greek spirits and traditional products as well as the methods by which they are made. This one-of-a-kind culinary experience will take place in a contemporary deli shop with a vast selection of the finest products from across the country. To help you visualise each region’s produce, we give you your very own gastronomy map of Greece! Use it during your workshop and take it home with you as a memento of your experience!

Starting from the northern part of the country, we will explore the culinary treasures of Macedonia and Thrace, where the highlights would be the fiery tsipouro from Veria, kasseri cheese from Xanthi and the round green olives from Chalkidiki. A little further down on your map, you will taste the specialties of central Greece, particularly the unique smoked Metsovone cheese and the Konservolia olive variety.

The Peloponnese is the homeland of numerous Greek products, but also one of the best wine regions in Greece; taste cured sardines from Messinia, feta cheese from Tripoli, sygklino from Mani and the world-famous Kalamata olives. Wash it all down with 2 different indigenous wine varieties.

The next destination of your culinary exploration of Greece would be the islands and, specifically, Cyclades. Indulge in the intense, mineral taste of Assyrtiko wine from Santorini and pair it with the unique cheeses of Naxos island, gruyere and arseniko.

To wrap up this journey of flavors, your map will take you to North Eastern Aegean to taste the world-famous ouzo and ladotiri of Lesvos as well as the Mastic Liqueur of Chios. Last but not least on this culinary escapade is the world-famous Cretan olive oil, drizzled upon a barley rusk and paired with apaki -a smoked cold cut favored by locals of the island. This truly is a workshop for all the senses and one best enjoyed in the company of friends, old and new!

Some of the authentic products you are going to try:

Apaki (cold cut)

This traditional cold cut from the island of Crete is a must choice for every foodie. The procedure of making it includes the dipping of the pork fillet in high-quality grape vinegar for almost three days. Later on, the smoking of the product is accomplished with branches of olive, orange and cypress trees. Spices and herbs, such as sage, savory and rosemary contribute to its particular and memorable taste.
