What you can expect?

After your guide picks you up from your hotel on foot, your tour kicks off with – what else? – the sacred Acropolis Hill. With our expert tour guide by your side, you will learn everything about the monumental buildings of the Acropolis, including the godly Parthenon, the Temple of Nike, the Propylaea and the sacred Erechtheion. Descending the Acropolis Hill, you will reach the Acropolis Museum, where you'll have the chance to admire exhibits and artifacts nearly 3.000 years old. Following your visit to the museum, you'll explore the emblematic buildings of Athens’ neoclassical architecture by walking through Plaka, the picturesque “island-like" neighborhood in the heart of Athens, home to the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates

After a refueling lunch break, hop on your luxury vehicle and start your city tour across Athens' most important monuments, including the Library of Hadrian and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Continue to the multicolored Monastiraki, with its vivid flea market, and dip your toes into 18th and 19th-century Athens by driving around Syntagma Square, home to the Greek Parliament since the establishment of the new Greek state. Right next to the imposing building, you will breathe in the scent of the hundreds of plant species found in the National Garden and marvel at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the 1st modern Olympic Games took place! This tour is definitely one of the best things to do in Athens and a must for all of our Greece vacation packages!

By the time we say goodbye, you’ll have seen the best of Athens on a tour encompassing the city’s most important elements: history, architecture, and the locals' everyday life.

My son and I did the all day tour in Athens. Our guide, Xenia was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable without giving us an information overload. We really enjoyed it. Would recommend, seeing the sights without the history wouldn't have done them justice.

Had a wonderful day tour with Evita from Greeking.me. She guided us through the Acropolis and Parthenon, Acropolis Museum, Plaka District, Changing of the guards and more. She worked hard at keeping my 13 year old engaged and discussing Greek mythology with my 16 and 18 year old which they really enjoyed.

This tour was a great way to get a quick insight into the city, complete with lots of delicious food. Greeking.me were really responsive and very friendly to deal with. Elena, my guide, was lovely, friendly and very knowledgable about the city, Greece, the food and history. I really enjoyed myself and would definitely recommend this tour.

This was an extremely worthwhile experience as you really get to know the different neighborhoods of Athens. Anastasia our guide studied archaeology at university so needless to say was very knowledgeable in regard to the city's ancient history; but she also led us expertly through the modern Athens.

Xenia, our guide, was a perfect match for us, with all her expertise. We spent a perfect day starting with the Acropolis & ancient Agora in the morning, with a very good lunch and an afternoon stroll. This is a hearty recommendation to anyone who wishes to get to know Athens at first hand.

While in Athens in May 2018, we contracted with Greeking.me for two transfers and two tours. We were picked up at the airport and transported to our hotel, then later transferred from our hotel to our ship. The drivers were on time, very professional. Our guide was Marialena, who was equally wonderful. I highly recommend booking tours/transfers through Greeking.me.

I highly recommend a Greeking.me tour if you are visiting Athens for the first time and are overwhelmed with where to begin to appreciate the ancient and modern culture of Athens. My day-long tour with Xenia introduced me not only to the treasures of the Acropolis, the Parthenon Museum, and other ancient sites around it. I really enjoyed this tour and recommend it very highly, it is worth every penny.

Xenia is the best! So smart! So cool! What a great company!

When I was at the top of the Acropolis, I couldn't believe I climbed all that way. Our guide, Alexandra, was very attentive. She is a wonderful teacher, and she is very attuned to my need to progress slowly. The marble on the walking surfaces is very slippery. She watched us all, carefully. What an experience!
Mary Ann S
Eva was EXCELLENT. She showed us everything we wished to see in Athens and went over the set tour time for 2 hours. Definitely recommended.

For the second time, I dealt with greeking me to arrange my tour package in Athens, this time I dealt with Tina the Operation Manager, she arranged and managed my trip from day one (hotel pick-up, Private Athens by Night Food Tour, Olive Oil Tasting Workshop on the Urban Farm, Argolis Day Trip and Athens Riviera Sailing Excursion), and really it was my great pleasure to deal with her, she was perfect and so professional, she arranged, managed and followed up day by day my tour trips. she was kind and helpful, I would like to thanks her so much for everything she did for me and my family.

My day-long tour with Xenia introduced me not only to the treasures of the Acropolis, the Parthenon Museum, and other ancient sites around it. She also pointed out the Plaka area and a wonderful restaurant there, and how easy it is to use the Athens Metro. I really enjoyed this tour and recommend it very highly, it is worth every penny, but to see it all, it's clear you have to go to Athens more than once--what an amazing place and culture.

The building now make sense with their history. The museum is marvelous, as well. Thank you

Xenia was a great guide. We visited all of the sites and went at a good pace. We had lunch at a small restaurant which was nice. Highly recommend this tour.

Tour is a great way to see the Acropolis and surrounding neighborhoods. The Acropolis area is stunning. The neighborhood around is bustling. Our Athens tour guide Eleni was expert and accomodating. Do wear walking shoes, as it is a lot of walking and it is quite warm in Athens in June. Older travelers should probably do this in pieces.

Our tour with Anastasia was wonderful! We had a really great time. First of all, it was well organized; we were able to skip lines and avoid crowds (though it was still crowded, but it appeared that it got even more crowded afterwards). More important, we were all impressed by the knowledge of Anastasia and her gentleness. Her love for Greek ancient history is simply amazing, and we learned a lot from her. And the half vehicle option was appropriate for us, because both of our kids were quite tired after lunch, and it would’ve been very hard for them if they had to walk.
