Built into a former wire factory, Filario Hotel and Residences is a welcome change from all the other classically designed resorts on Lake Como. The interior is minimalist yet stylish, with large windows that allow plenty of light in.
This allows guests to get a glorious view of the lake, even though they are still indoors. The walls are also lined with black and white photos featuring Como’s history, taking you on a cultural trip each time you pass through the hallway.
In the evening, you can retreat in the rooms that have been decorated in earthly tones. Each room has been individually furnished with handmade furniture made by local artisans, and it also features exquisite textiles.
The shelves are beautifully lined with glass jars, and the beds all feature luxurious Frette linens. The bathrooms are spa-like, tiled with porcelain, and featuring rainfall showerheads.
