Explore Italy's natural marvels on a 12-day journey through Northern Italy. From the majestic Dolomites to the stunning Lake Como, the Renaissance wonders of Florence, and the charming towns of Siena and San Gimignano, this tour offers alpine landscapes, historic treasures, and delectable gastronomy.
While Italy is famous for its august capital city of Rome and its abundance of beautiful beaches, there’s plenty more to see and do in Italy beyond the coast. On this 12-day trip through Northern Italy, you will ascend to new heights in the Dolomites, sail the exquisite waters of Lake Como, walk the storied streets of Florence, and discover another side of Tuscany in the towns of Siena and San Gimignano. Whether you’re most excited about Northern Italy’s unique mountain scenery, remarkable Renaissance-era art, or delectable gastronomical traditions, this tour will make many of your dreams come true.

Dolomites
When you arrive at Venice Airport, we will pick you up and transport you to your first hotel high in the Dolomites. Check in at your hotel, and feel free to spend your first night in Italy however you please.
The next day, we will send you on an epic excursion to Bressanone and the Funes Valley.
The town of Bressanone combines medieval history with modern sensibilities and an incredible alpine atmosphere, and you will catch both sides as you make your way through the town center and visit Bressanone’s historic cathedral and castle.
From there, you will be driven to the 800-year-old Novacella Abbey, an Augustinian monastery nestled amidst vineyards and orchards that has its own tranquil wine cellar.
Next, you will go to the Funes Valley, a fairytale-esque location where the towering Odle Mountains rise above picturesque churches and quaint villages.
For your third day in Italy, you will head out to Lake Misurina, the largest natural lake of the Cadore region and the inspiration for Claudio Baglioni’s classic song Il lago di Misurina.
You will see where the speed skating events were held during the 1956 Winter Olympics, and you can wander around the lake’s picturesque shores while enjoying stunning views of the nearby Tre Cime di Lavaredo, or the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, perhaps the most famous peaks of the Dolomites.

Lake Como
On day 5, you will have to leave the Dolomites, but we promise you will soon arrive at another equally gorgeous mountain getaway.
We will arrange a private transfer from your hotel in the Dolomites to your new hotel at Lake Como, and we will have a chance to stop and enjoy the views at Lake Garda while en route to Como.
The following day, you will sail to perhaps the most famous town on Lake Como’s shore: You will hop on board a ferry that will take you to the one and only Bellagio!
During your ferry ride, your expert guide will point out some of Lake Como’s most glamorous private villas.
Once you reach dry land in Bellagio, you will be guided into one of Italy’s best bottegas, where you will do a tasting of the region’s finest wines along with gourmet charcuterie.
For your sixth day, you will have a free day. Go ahead and do whatever you like at Lake Como, as there’s such a wealth of hidden treasures for you to discover!

Siena and San Gimignano
The next morning, it will be time to bid arrivederci (or goodbye) to Florence, but you will have two more days to explore more of Tuscany!
We will arrange a private transfer from Florence to your new hotel, where you can refresh and recharge before our final outing of this trip.
On day 11, we will send you on an amazing day trip that’s fitting as a grand finale. You will meet your expert guide near your hotel, then you will take an air-conditioned van ride to the charmingly preserved medieval village of Siena for a special tour of the town’s finest landmarks.
You will then visit the village of San Gimignano that has a medieval skyline that’s so beautiful that it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
You will finish your tour at a fabulous boutique winery in the Chianti countryside, where you will enjoy a magical sunset dinner with expert wine pairings and a chance to visit their cellars. Following your final tour, we will bring you back to your hotel.

Departure
For your departure day, we will provide one more private car transfer from your hotel to Florence Airport, and you will have plenty of time to check in with your airline and catch your flight(s) home.
Though we’ll be sad to see you go, we’re so glad that you chose us to plan your great Italian getaway, and we hope to see you again soon.
