Sapphire Seas and Aegean Dreams: Amalfi, Florence, Athens, Milos & Santorini

Florence

On the fourth day, we will provide a car transfer to Naples; then, you will enjoy a scenic and relaxing train ride to Florence.

If you and your loved one love trains, then this day will be particularly fun as you ride a modern Italian train and take in the lovely views of the Tuscan countryside.

Once you arrive at the train station, we will provide another transfer to your new hotel in Florence.

On day 5, you will take a comprehensive walking tour around the city. You will enjoy expedited access to Florence’s legendary Duomo Cathedral, where you will learn the amazing story of the real-life “Renaissance man” Filippo Brunelleschi and how he built one of the world’s most famous domes.

You will also have expedited access to the Galleria dell’Accademia, one of the world’s most famous art museums, where you will encounter Michaelangelo’s masterpiece 'David,' along with an unfinished sculpture of his that will let you go behind the scenes into Michaelangelo’s creative process.

In addition, your expert guide will clue you in on some more of Florence’s best places, including the bustling Leather Market and the site of an ancient Roman forum that’s now the Piazza della Repubblica.

On the sixth day, we will take you to another of Florence’s finest art museums! At the Uffizi Gallery, discover remarkable masterpieces like Caravaggio’s Bacchus and Medusa, Sandro Botticelli’s Primavera and The Birth of Venus, and Michaelangelo’s Holy Family.

In addition, you will visit more of Florence’s finest attractions, such as the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria, and the Ponte Vecchio bridge.

It’s a great way to turn a day of sightseeing into a day-long date worth remembering!

Athens

On day 7, you will have to say goodbye to Italy, but we promise many more enchanted encounters in the week ahead! Once you check out of your hotel in Florence, we will transport you to the airport; then you will catch your flight to Athens.

Upon arriving, we will provide a private transfer to your new hotel, where you can enjoy a special evening with your special someone to kick off your time in this timelessly wonderful city.

The next morning, we will set you up with a friendly and knowledgeable local guide, then send you on our signature private Mythology Tour of the Acropolis.

With an expert archaeologist and licensed tourist guide, you will make your way up the Acropolis rock, explore the Theater of Dionysus that hosted many of ancient Athens’ greatest performances, discover the cult temple of Athena at the Erechtheion, and spend some quality time at the Parthenon that continues to serve as a monument to the values of Western civilization.

While you’re in the neighborhood, you will also have time to peruse the Acropolis Museum, where you can check out many more treasures of ancient Greece.

Milos

On day 9, you will be leaving Athens, but we promise it’s for a great reason: You will be heading to Milos!

This island may not be the most famous of the Aegean islands, but it is the perfect place to spend quality time with your loved one while you experience a different and remarkably beautiful side of the Aegean Sea.

We will take care of all your transportation needs this day, from your departure from your hotel in Athens to your transfer from Milos’ airport to your next hotel for this trip.

For your tenth day, you will have quite the archaeological and cultural experience! On this tour, you will find the original site where the Venus de Milo stood before it was moved to the Louvre in Paris.

In addition, you will see Milos’ ancient theater, the Catacombs that led to the island’s designation as a Holy Island, and the Pilgrimage Site, the charming fishing village of Klima, and the fascinating museums in Milos’ capital city of Plaka.

Your tour will conclude with a stop at the ultimate romantic landmark: the beach of Sarakiniko, where you will be mesmerized by its white volcanic rock formations.

The following day, it’s time to head back to sea. You will take a boat tour that will start from Adamas port in the morning. During your day at sea, you can look out for colorful local landmarks, such as the Syrmata (or houses) of the nearby fishing villages, the lava rocks of Arkoudes, and the hot springs of Gerakas.

You will also get to stop and swim at the incredible natural bay of Kalogries, the many caves of the historic “pirates bay” Kleftiko, and the amazing Galazia Nera in Poliegos.

This boat trip will include snacks on board, a full traditional Greek lunch, local house wine, and additional beverages.

Santorini

Though this trip will be nearing its conclusion, you’ll still have one more incredible destination to experience: Santorini!

We will arrange a private transfer from your hotel at Milos to the local ferry terminal, where you will then do a ferry ride to Santorini. Once you arrive on this island, we will transport you to your new hotel.

For day 13, we will bring you along for our special full-day Highlights of Santorini tour! We will provide private luxury transportation throughout the day, and we will kick off your special day with a stop at Prehistoric Thera.

There, you will encounter the archaeological site full of Minoan-era ruins and the history behind the myth of the Lost City of Atlantis.

You will later learn much more about the Minoan civilization in the town Akrotiri and at the Prehistoric Museum of Santorini, plus you will get to check out landmarks like the world-famous Red Beach and the stunning Blue Dome.

To make this day even better, we will also treat you to a great 4-course lunch paired with Santorini’s four most distinctive wines!

For your final full day in Santorini, we will let you decide how you want to spend it. Feel free to plan the ideal date with your partner on this beautiful island, or go ahead and leave it to fate to figure out how you’ll enjoy your own personal grand finale to this wonderful vacation.

Departure
