Best Of Mediterranean Food & Wine: Florence, Tuscany, Athens, Crete

The following day, you will have to bid arrivederci (or goodbye) to Florence, but you will have two more days to explore more of Tuscany!

We will provide a private transfer from Florence to your new hotel in the Tuscan countryside. Once you check in at your hotel, you can spend the evening as you please.

For your final full day in Italy, we have an extra special day trip planned for you! We will handle all your transportation so you can kick back and enjoy Chianti, the region where Chianti wine is made!

In addition, you will explore the lovely towns of Siena and San Gimignano, and you can spend one more day basking in the glory of the Tuscan sun before you settle in for the night in Florence.

On day 6, we will pick you up at your hotel in Tuscany and then take you back to Florence Airport. This will conclude the Italian leg of your trip, but you still have plenty more to see and do in Greece!

Once you arrive in Athens, we will transport you to your next hotel in the heart of the city. Feel free to take it easy and rest up for the night because you’ll have an action-packed day ahead of you!

The next day, we will take you on a fantastic evening tour of Athens’ most mesmerizing landmark: the Acropolis!

On this private tour of the Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum, you will discover the truth behind the legends of the Athena Nike, the battle between Athena and Poseidon, the healing powers of Asclepius, and this very location being “the birthplace of Western civilization.”

At the Acropolis Museum, you will find many more incredible artifacts that will provide more insight into real life in ancient Greece.

On the eighth day, you will depart Athens, and we will take you to the airport, so you can fly to the gorgeous island of Crete. We will then transport you to your hotel on the island. From there, we will leave it up to you to decide how to spend the evening.

The following morning, we will send you off on an incredible tour of 7 nearby traditional Cretan villages. On this tour, you will experience everything from the calming river of Vreses to the hidden church of St. Antony in the village of Emprosneros.

You will also get to visit a local, family-run raki distillery where you can learn all about this unique Cretan spirit, and you will taste plenty more local delicacies throughout the tour, from Greek coffee in Armenoi to a full Cretan lunch in Fres!

For your final full day in Greece, you will do a fantastic cooking class at a private kitchen high in the White Mountains above the town of Chania.

You will see for yourself how the freshest local ingredients make the most delectable dishes and meals, as you will be cooking with hand-picked vegetables from the garden and locally sourced olive oil, dairy, and meats.

You will try your hand at traditional Cretan dishes like dakos, and kaltsounia, plus you will be enjoying authentic Cretan wines and cheeses.

As much as we would love for you to stay and play with us some more, it’s time to bid farewell to Italy and to this incredible vacation.

We will conclude your trip with a private car transfer and ensure you arrive at the airport with ample time to catch your flight(s) back home. Hopefully, we will see you again soon!
