Those who are passionate about historical buildings will enjoy their stay at the San Firenze Suites & Spa. The hotel is housed in a building erected in the 17th century, making it a historical gem in itself.

The building was fully restored in 2011 and has received a lot of maintenance and restorations over the years. The last of the big renovations took place in 2015, which turned San Firenze Suites & Spa into an upscale establishment.

The rooms at this hotel are generally very peaceful and quiet, welcoming every guest after a long day of sightseeing. All suites have flat screens and tea or coffee makers, allowing you to start or end your day at any hour with a fresh brew. Some of the rooms also have four-poster beds with wide windows that offer a gorgeous view of the city.

Guests can choose to spend time in the spa area, where they may take a Turkish bath, a chromotherapy shower, sit in the sauna, or relax in a hot tub. Those who want to burn extra calories from a meal may also go to the sister hotel, Ponte Vecchio Suites & Spa, where they can work out in the gym area.

All guests can enjoy a sweet and savory breakfast that includes both hot and cold options. You can get anything from croissants and homemade cakes to freshly baked bread, eggs, cheese, juices, and coffee.

Why we love it

It is located in the center, which means you’re close to major attractions, as well as bars, shops, and restaurants

The small spa offers various relaxation options such as a Turkish bath, hot tub, sauna, or massage

Some of the suites also have a kitchenette, along with flat screens in the bathroom for a very relaxing bath

The terrace offers a gorgeous view of Florence and the sunrise or sunset

In and around

One of the biggest appeals of the San Firenze Suites & Spa is the fact that it’s centrally located in Firenze. This means that every point of interest is within walking distance, taking away the need to drive around. If you want to visit the tourist areas at a farther distance, the hotel staff can help you book a driver or a cab service.

It takes around three minutes to get to the gorgeous Palazzo Vecchio and about five minutes to reach Piazza della Signoria. If you are in the mood for a 10–15-minute stroll, you may visit Strozzi Palace, Casa Buonarroti, and Salvatore Ferragamo Museum. Guests that come around during winter may also arrange a trip to La Capanna Ski Lift, which involves a 30-minute drive.

There are numerous restaurants and cafes nearby that you may enjoy. Stop at the Birreria for a nice cold brew, or go to the Pecattori for a nice, fresh meal. The Brown Sugar Lounge Bar is also a great place for you to relax at.
