Italy & Greece in Love: Milan, Florence, Athens, Delphi, Meteora & Thessaloniki

You may say goodbye to Milan, but not to the Italian countryside! Traveling by train from Milan to Florence is convenient and offers a scenic journey. Upon arriving at the train station, our driver will pick you up and drive you to your accommodation in the heart of Florence.

Your first full day in Florence is all about introducing you to the Tuscan capital's best sights. You will get to walk on the arch bridge over the Arno, but most importantly, skip the line for the city’s top attractions, the Accademia Gallery and the Duomo Cathedral!

Inside Accademia, you will admire what is to many the world’s best sculpture, David, among many other Michaelangelo sculptures. At the same time, you will discover a fascinating tale of architectural mastery at the Duomo, a famous UNESCO World Heritage site.

The next day’s evening is meant for enjoying Florence to the fullest. Your local guide will take you around the city’s most magical spots filled with history, art, and culture.

Get ready to fall in love with Milan’s most authentic neighborhood, the Oltarno, and one of the most magnificent Renaissance palaces, the Pitti Palace.

After getting some energy from the gelato, you will walk through famous streets where you can find fashion brands and local products. You still have many days ahead of you, but if you find a souvenir you like, there is no need to pace yourself!

The time has come to leave Florence and charming Italy. However, your trip is still ongoing as a unique and diverse travel experience in Greece lies ahead!

Our driver will ensure you arrive safely at the airport and catch your flight to Athens on time. Of course, once you arrive at Athens International Airport, another one of our drives will drive you to your accommodation in Athens. You can spend the first night in the city relaxing from the trip and getting ready to visit Acropolis Hill the following day!

Next morning, you and your family will take a tour of the sacred hill of the Acropolis. Get ready for a memorable and educational experience that allows both adults and children to immerse in ancient Greek history and appreciate the architectural wonders of the Parthenon!

Our enthusiastic guide, specializing in Greek archaeology, will ensure that the experience suits all family members. Plus, children will get the chance to watch how all the buildings used to look at their peak if you choose to get a 3D Acropolis app to complement their tour.

On day 9, you will leave the bustling city behind you, drive through the picturesque Greek countryside, and discover the most spiritual site of ancient Greece.

Arriving in Delphi, you will enter the Delphi Archaeological Site, which was once considered the center of the ancient world. Here, you and your family can explore the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, and learn about Pythia, the priestess who would deliver Apollo’s prophecies!

A visit to the archaeological museum of Delphi will impress you, especially when you encounter the giant Sphinx! Your licensed guide will provide you with all the context for Delphi's religious and cultural aspects.

After the tour, you can enjoy a meal at a local restaurant and try the local cheese, formaela. Eventually, the most mysterious and enigmatic tour of all has come to an end, and our driver will take you to your accommodation for the night.

Next days have room for even more breathtaking views than the previous! Your driver will take you to your hotel near Meteora's rock formations. After a long drive, you can relax at your hotel in Kalambaka and get ready to explore the 'suspended in the air’' Greek monasteries.

On day 11, the time has come to visit the historic monasteries. You will embark on a half-day tour that will take you to some of the several monasteries atop the rock pillars with spectacular views. With the help of our guide, you and your kids will gain insights into the history of the Greek monastic communities.

After completing your tour, with your eyes still in awe of the beauty, you will continue your trip further to the North of Greece and the city of Thessaloniki. The journey to Greece has yet to come to an end because one of the oldest cities in Europe awaits to be explored!

On your first full day in Thessaloniki, you will tour around the historic city with our half-day private tour. Thessaloniki is a blend of modern, vibrant culture, ancient ruins, Byzantine churches, Ottoman architecture, and neoclassical buildings.

Walking through the streets of the city center, you'll feel like you're stepping back in time.

Among the highlights, you will enjoy the White Tower, the iconic landmark of Thessaloniki by the beach, and the Rotonda, a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site, the Galerius Arch, and the so-called Ano Poli (Upper Town), where you and the kids will be impressed with the panoramic views of the city!

Even though your trip is nearing its conclusion, you still have time to explore a significant archaeological site in Vergina, Northern Greece.

For your last day trip, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Thessaloniki and drive you to the site. As you travel north, relax and enjoy the scenic views while you catch glimpses of the home of the Olympians, the famous Mount Olympus!

Arriving at Vergina, you will visit its royal tombs. Have your kids ever heard of a brave warrior called Great Alexander who traveled to faraway places? One of the most famous tombs in Vergina is that of King Philip II, Great Alexander’s father. Of course, you should not miss visiting the museum, which hosts many archaeological treasures and will put everything into context. 

Αfter immersing yourself in Italian and Greek culture and having incredible new experiences, your family trip has ended. To ensure you arrive home safely, our driver will pick you up early on time for your flight back home.
