Ionian Escape: 12-Day Athens, Zakynthos & Kefalonia Trip

The following day, it’s time to move on to the next stop of your trip, Zakynthos, also known as Zante. In the morning, you’ll be transferred to Athens airport to catch a flight to the island.

On your way there, make a short stop at the isthmus of Corinth to see the Corinth Canal, an impressive feat of engineering that separates the Peloponnese from the mainland.

Once you reach Zakynthos port, enjoy a comfortable drive to your hotel in the beautiful resort of Tsilivi, where you can rest for the day.

On day 5, join other fellow travelers on a unique tour of the authentic side of Zakynthos.

Get to visit traditional villages, a folklore museum, a monastery, an olive oil factory, and the shipwreck platform for the panoramic pictures of the famous bay. In a nutshell, a fantastic opportunity to dig into the roots of the island’s culture.

Day 6 is your free day to discover the island on your own. On the seventh day, choose the activity you would like to engage in. Your first option is a day at the magnificent Xingia Beach, a small sandy beach with a distinctive aroma.

The waters, which come from the mountains into the sea, contain sulfur and have healing properties - a natural spa day! On the other, you could opt for a boat trip to the famous Shipwreck beach and the beautiful Blue Caves.

If you are keen on visiting those places and wish to swim in the sulfur waters as well, no worries! This tour includes a stop at Xingia Beach by bus, too. No matter which activity you choose, we assure you that you’ll have a wonderful day!

Your escape to the Ionian continues with you taking the ferry from Zakynthos port to Kyllini to catch a ferry to Kefalonia, the biggest island of the Ionian Sea!

Upon your arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Argostoli with a private vehicle. Check in, relax, and take it easy for the day.

On day 9, a fascinating tour awaits you! Along with your local driver-guide, discover Kefalonia’s must-see attractions.

Six stops, six different highlights: the monastery of Saint Gerasimos, the saint patron of the island; Robola winery for a wine tasting of the famous Robola wine; the marvelous Drogarati cave, more than 150 million years old; the lake of the nymphs, the dazzling Melissani Lake; the pretty village of Agia Efimia and a stopover Myrtos beach for breathtaking views!

Spend the following day at your own leisure and explore the capital of the island, Argostoli.

Wander around its narrow streets and walk along the promenade and the De Bosset Bridge, the longest stone bridge over the sea in the world.

Don’t forget to visit St Theodore Lighthouse and the sinks "Katavothres", a rare geological phenomenon.

On day 11, continue on with the exploration of Argostoli, or let us drive you to the picturesque village of Assos to spend the day there.

The pine and cypress trees and the crystal clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea create a unique combination and make Assos an ideal place to unwind and let your worries float away!

On day 12, have your driver pick you up from your hotel to take you to Kefalonia airport with plenty of time to catch your flight to Athens. Your magical 12-day trip may have come to an end, but you’ll return home full of memories and unforgettable experiences!
