We were brought to the oldest olive tree in the world and experienced some of the local delicacies. Both wineries were very enjoyable and our guide was really knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

- A wide range of Cretan and international wine varieties
- An assortment of locally produced products, including vegetables, cold cuts, cheeses and bread.
What you can expect?
For the first stop of your tour, your expert guide will take you to a traditional family winery, established in 1993, unique due to its refreshing approach to wine-making, consisting of contemporary processes of farming and wine production. There, you’ll have the opportunity to experience Crete’s nature first-hand, walking along rows of olive trees and tasting award-winning wines, such as the local varieties of ‘Vidiano’, ‘Muscat of Spinas’, and international varieties like ‘Grenache Rouge’, ‘Syrah’ and ‘Mouverde’, carrying the distinct flavor the local Terroir has gifted them. You’ll even get to pair your wine with an assortment of Cretan goods, including vegetables, cold-cuts and cheeses!
Following the visit at the winery, and with the sweet taste of wine still in your mouth, you will take a walk through the beautiful neighborhoods of the island, heading towards traditional Cretan villages. Your walk will eventually take you to the museum of the oldest olive tree in the world, which is estimated to be around 3000 years old. Its imposing presence will award you with one of the most magical sights of your life. The miracle of nature and life will stand before you with its signs of age proudly displayed; a treat to your eyes and soul!
We will make the promise of wine abundance a reality by continuing the tour with a visit to an alluring winery in the region of Kissamos. There, you’ll get to taste a one of a kind, local white wine blend made with the combination of the varieties of ‘Vilana’, ‘Vidiano’, ‘Assirtiko’ and other delectable wines, always paired with Greek snacks.
Next, you will visit a local, family-run olive oil factory, where you will become familiar with the extra virgin olive oil production; a craft the Greeks have perfected over the countless years of practice. The wine-tasting along with the consumption of first-class extra virgin olive oil and local, organic products will make for an exquisite experience that you will treasure for years to come.
