On this 15-day tour, you will have a prime opportunity to experience the best of both countries! From Venice’s enchanting canals and churches to Florence’s glorious works of art, and from Athens’ incredible archaeological riches to Rome’s amazing collections of living history, you will continually be astounded by the many wonders of Italy and Greece that you will discover throughout this trip.
Venice
Benvenuti is an Italian word for welcome, and we’ll ensure you receive a very warm and inviting welcome to Italy upon your arrival at Venice Airport. We will arrange a private transfer to get you to your hotel in the city.
Once you’re there, you can take your pick of a private tour of the city that evening with special access to St. Mark’s Basilica, or you can spend your first night in Venice doing as you please.
The following morning, you will embark on an amazing tour of the islands of Murano and Burano, which are both only accessible by boat.
At Burano, discover a Michelin-starred restaurant with a beautiful secret vineyard. This is where you will enjoy a private wine tasting that no other tour operator offers!
At Murano, you will have an intimate view of the island’s glassmaking tradition, including a visit to a formerly abandoned medieval church that’s now a glassblowing workshop.
Florence
On day 3, you will be leaving Venice, but you will have plenty more to see and do in Florence. In the morning, we will take care of your transportation to your hotel in Florence.
Later on, we will send you on an enchanting evening tour of the city. See for yourself the marvelous Renaissance-era Duomo cathedral with its iconic dome and additional local landmarks like the Golden Gates of the Baptistery and the Ponte Vecchio bridge. If this doesn’t sound appetizing enough, fear not, because you will also stop at a traditional gelateria and enjoy some local gelato!
The next day, you will take a comprehensive VIP walking tour of Florence, including pre-reserved tickets and express access at all stops.
You will head inside the famed Galleria dell’Accademia, where you will find Michaelangelo’s David and additional works by the world-renowned Renaissance artist. You will also head inside the Uffizi Gallery, which has its own collection of great Renaissance art, like Sandro Botticelli’s Primavera and Birth of Venus.
Even outside the museums and galleries, keep your eyes out for incredible art all around town and the leather market, where you can seek your masterpiece to take home with you.
For your fifth day, we will send you on an amazing day trip to explore more of Tuscany. You will meet your expert guide in Florence, then you will be whisked away to the pristine medieval village of Siena for a special tour of the town’s finest landmarks.
You will then head to Chianti for lunch with wine pairings at an authentic local farm and winery, and you will later visit the village of San Gimignano that’s so incredible that it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Rome
From Florence, you will hop on the train for a scenic and relaxing ride down to Rome. We will then provide a ride to your hotel in the city. From here, you can spend the night however you like.
The next morning, you will be on a mission to experience the best Rome offers in a day!
In one day, you will relive ancient Roman history at the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, you will enjoy some true Roman-style La Dolce Vita at the Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain, and you will make your way through the most stunning landmarks of Vatican City.
At the Vatican, you will get to see Michaelangelo’s frescoes at the Sistine Chapel, as well as a massive treasure trove of amazing art at the Vatican Museums. Since you will enjoy expedited access to many of these stops throughout the day along with air-conditioned private transfers between the center of Rome and Vatican City, you can see and do it all in one day!
For day 8, you will do a comprehensive city food tour. You will taste everything from Rome’s favorite street food—the Trapizzino “pizza sandwich”—to artisanal gelato, authentic Roman pizza, and some of Italy’s finest balsamic vinegar, cured meats, and cheeses. For dinner, you will feast on homemade pastas and fine wines at one of Rome’s best restaurants.
Athens
On day 9, we will provide your own private car transfer to the airport, where you will fly to Greece. Upon arriving in Athens, we will provide another private transfer to your hotel in the city, and we will leave it up to you to choose a quiet night in or a fun night out on the town.
The next day, we will take you on our very own Secret Acropolis Tour! You will be paired with an expert guide for a private tour of the Acropolis, including a visit to the spectacular Propylaea and the lost gallery of the ancient world that hosted art by the most famous ancient Greek artists.
On this tour, you will dive deeper into the history and the facts behind the legendary tale of Theseus, the sultry stories of Pericles and his spouse, the secret cults of Athena, and many more stories from ancient Greek mythology that are not as well known (but are just as fascinating!).
Delphi
On the eleventh day, we will take you to the mythical and spiritual heart of ancient Greece.
Upon checking out of your hotel in Athens, we will take you on a private guided tour of Delphi, which will include visits to the archaeological site and to Delphi’s impressive museum.
Once you begin to tour Delphi’s archaeological site, you will understand why ancient Greeks called this place 'the navel of the earth' while discovering ancient landmarks like the Theatre of Delphi, the Temple of Apollo, and the famous oracle site.
This tour will also include ample free time in the afternoon for you to enjoy a leisurely lunch in town and explore more of Delphi. Following your adventure, you will stay at a special hotel nearby.
Meteora
For day 12, we will take you to the awe-inspiring rocky landscape and spiritual haven of Meteora. Once you check out of your hotel in Delphi, we will arrange a private car transfer to Meteora.
Upon arriving in Meteora, we will show you the area’s best sights, including the remarkable rock formations and the nearby monasteries that survived everything from Ottoman occupation to bombings during World War II.
After your tour of the region, you can rest and relax at your hotel in town.
Athens
For your final full day in Greece, we will arrange your transportation back to Athens. Upon returning to the city, you will check into a great local hotel, then we will enjoy one more enchanting evening walk in Athens and a lovely farewell dinner.
Departure
Though this trip will be coming to an end, we hope you will have made a multitude of beloved and lasting memories. After you check out of your hotel in Athens, we will take care of your transportation to the airport, and you should have plenty of time to make your way through the airport and catch your flight(s) home.
